As others have said, messing with HDR and bloom settings on login screen/in queue does mess up the client. Easy fix that worked for me: Open prefs.ini set "bloom=0" and "hdrEnabled=0", save and the client should work next launch without clearing ...

Everyone will get the new graphics engine. The new "shiny" model art content is limited to SM3 graphics cards. Non-SM3 cards will use current models, but still have the new engine.
